World’s Largest Statues
Why do we build giant statues? It usually has to do with conveying an idea or honoring something bigger than ourselves, like a deity or a concept. The statue of liberty represents the notion of freedom and justice for all. Many are built to honor one's religious icon. Whatever the purpose they are a marvel of human cooperation and dominate any landscape they are in. These are 19 of the largest statues in the world.
